Mary Elizabeth Landers of Tarrant, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 93 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Madison Landers, her parents Calogero Charles Virciglio and Nicoletta DeCarlo Virciglio, her sister Flora Mae Virciglio Byrd, and her brother Norman Frank Virciglio. She is survived by her son Matt Landers (Cathy), her grandchildren Nicole Landers and Natalie Landers, sister-in-law Dorothy Virciglio, Joyce Gossett, brother-in-law Gene Gossett, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery. Brother Tim Tidwell will be officiating.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Compassus Hospice at St. Martin's in the Pines and to Brookwood Medical Center Palliative Care and staff.
