Mark Ingram, 88 went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born in Blount County as the seventh son of Dave and Bessie Ragsdale Ingram who preceded him in death as did brothers Dorsey, Herman, Hoyt, Bill, Clarence and Robert, and sisters Ossie and Annie I. Tidwell.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Eula H. Ingram, his son Stephen A. (Cathy) Ingram, daughter Ann I. (Donnie) Kerr, grandson Evan Ingram and granddaughters Elizabeth Kerr and Tiffany (Patrick) Sheppard, sister Stella Gamble and brother Dave (Doris) Ingram.
Mark grew up on the family farm in Blount County and graduated from Blount County high school. He then joined the U.S. Army and served in the Signal Corp. during WWII as did five of his brothers.
Mark was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in East Lake for 10 years where he was baptized and ordained a deacon. Later he moved to the Huffman area and joined Huffman Baptist Church where he served as a life deacon. He was a member of Ron Bells Sunday School class.
Mark was active in the church and community, making many mission trips with Builders for Christ. He was a past president of the Huffman Lions club, member of the Eastern Sales Club and an active worker with Eastern Area Christian ministries. Many still miss the service he provided as the owner of Mark Ingram’s Shell Service Station and Towing Service.
Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Ridout’s Trussville and the memorial funeral service will be held at Huffman Baptist Church Saturday April 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Huffman Baptist church (700 Huffman Road, Birmingham, Al 35215) or the charity of your choice.
