Martha S Stanley

Martha “Sue” Dover Stanley, age 88, of, Jasper, AL passed away on February 28, 2024. She was a native of Jasper, AL and formerly of Birmingham, AL where she met her husband, John L Stanley, Jr. and were married for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Danny Stanley; her parents, Luther Dover and Vada Dover; a step mother, Cora Dover and six sisters, Opal, Grace, Audine, Evelyn, Tera Mae, and Hazel.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Teresa Bagwell (Wilson); four grandchildren, Kristy Cox (Brandon), Lindsay Styes (Ben), Tyler Stanley (Nikole), Danny Bagwell (Raye); eight great grandchildren, Connor and Karlea Cox, Nolan, John Luke and Emmie Styes, Josh Bagwell (Keri), Amanda Sherer (Andrew) and Jessica Bagwell; two great-great grandchildren, Kohen Bagwell, Brynnly Sherer, and one on the way .

A funeral service for Sue will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at Ridout's Trussville Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pastor Larry Smith will preside over the service.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Amanda for her special loving care for the past three years and also to Gentiva Hospice during her final days.
