Marie S. Barranco

Marie Smeraglia Barranco, age 91, passed on into the arms of her Heavenly Father August 24, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony (Pete) Barranco; parents Sarah and Frank A. Smeraglia; daughter Elizabeth May and brother Anthony (Bud) Smeraglia. She is survived by her children Sarah Masters (Randy) and Robert Barranco (Sheila) and grandchildren; Angela May and James May; brothers Robert C. Smeraglia and John Gullo and sister Cathy Gullo and many relatives and friends.

Marie is remembered by all for her love and kindness, her gentle heart and her devoted love to family and friends. She was a native of Birmingham, AL and a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday, August 28 from 9:00 until 10:00 am at St. Barnabas Catholic Church (7921 1st Ave N Birmingham, AL 35206) with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00 am at the church immediately followed by a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery and luncheon at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
