Marianne Campanotta Accardi, 89, passed from this life on April 22, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Alabama and attended Ensley High School. Marianne and her husband Anthony were married in 1954 and owned two grocery businesses while raising their four children. When her children reached adulthood, Marianne embarked on a second career with the federal government which lasted 38 years. She enjoyed her work and built lasting friendships there.
Marianne had a great love of country, her faith, music, cooking, and other art forms. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life and participated in numerous church groups and choirs at the various parishes she attended. She was a self-taught painter and often gifted others with her finished works. You would often find her on Saturdays in the fall listening to Eli call an Alabama football game for her beloved Crimson Tide.
Her greatest loves were her family and faithful friends. She had a listening ear for everyone, a thoughtful and authentic soul, and a huge heart. She wanted others to be happy and would always share a smile.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Accardi, daughter Vicki Accardi, her parents Felix and Anna Carbonie Campanotta, a brother Nick Campanotta, two sisters, Josephine Ippolito (Jim) and Marie LaRussa (Anthony), a nephew Felix Campanotta, and many other extended family members.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Accardi (Norwalk, Connecticut) and Mary Dossey and a son Anthony Accardi Jr. (Crestview, Florida), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
