Margie Fay Crawford of Clay, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, the 30th of July 2022 at the age of 95. Fay was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was very much loved and appreciated. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher there for many years. Margie Fay started her nursing career by serving her country as a Nurse Cadet during WW II. Later in life she became one of the 1st Nurse Practitioners in Alabama and, also, was the oldest licensed nurse in the State of Alabama. Fay was preceded in death by her parents Felton A. and Rosa Hix Ware and her husband, Bernard Crawford. She is also survived by her children: Brian Crawford (Lennie) and Tommy Crawford (Sue); five grandchildren, Joey Crawford (Kiki), Connie Crawford Benson (Bryan), Daniel Crawford, Philip Crawford, Sarah Crawford Bryan (Jerimiah); her great grandchildren: Abby Crawford Fredrick (Matt), Colton Crawford, Hix Crawford, Josh Benson, Hannah Benson and Selah Benson; her great-great grandchild, Callen Fredrick.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12 noon on Tuesday morning, August 2nd at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, 9392 Cedar Mountain Road, Pinson, Al 35126. Services will begin at 12 noon and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Cemetery. Family requests that flowers be sent to Ridouts Trussville Chapel Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Cemetery Fund.
