Louise Holcomb Antonio passed away October 30, 2016 at 94 years old at The Village in Pell City, Alabama. Louise was born in West Blockton, Alabama on October 16, 1922 to Ola Pearl McKenzie and Elige Holcomb. She was the third child of eleven raised as the only daughter with eight brothers. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe ”Nish” Antonio of 72 years, her parents, brothers James, Curtis, Alvis, Billy Jo, J.D., Charles, Clarence and Kenneth, only one sister Mary Frances, who died as an infant, and grandson Joseph Brian. She is survived by her four children Norman (Gail), Jean (Steven Shish), Joe (Kathleen) Antonio and Nancy Jones (Dee), ex- daughter-in-law Jenni Antonio and ex-son-in-law Kent Rush; plus seven grandchildren Norman Jr, Christina, Andrea, Kimberlee, Steven, Jessica, and Tera, step granddaughter Mandee. Six great grandchildren: Dulcinea, Eli, Colton, Jalin, Drew, Camille, and two baby boys on the way. She is also survived by her brother Bobby Holcomb in Tarrant City. Louise spent most of her life in Birmingham, Alabama raising her family. She was active at the Ensley Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher. She was a “Rosie Riveter” during WWII and later worked in the family business, Antonio Auto Parts in Ensley. She loved buying, remodeling, and selling houses in Panama City, Florida in retirement. Louise was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and aunt. She made many dear friends in her lifetime. She was very smart with a lovely smile and laugh, “sassy” attitude, and an independent state of mind in her approach to life. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday November 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Jim Auchmuty will officiate the ceremony
