He is survived by his children Louis Jr., Cecelia Kulovitz Miller (Larry), Michael, Pat (Frances), Gina Kulovitz Kirkland (Dal) and beloved sister in law Rebecca Rice. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also cherish his memory. He attended McGill Academy and Blessed Sacrament Academy. He served in the war effort as a member of the Merchant Marines and upon discharge married the love of his life, Margaret Rice, on November 13, 1946. They had an enduring and happy marriage lasting 65 years, producing five caring children and many wonderful memories. He tenderly cared for his ailing wife in her final days on this earth. He was ever faithful, ever loyal, and ever true. He was a shining example of dedication and personified those elusive qualities found in a straight and upright man. He was a bright star and always had his eyes fixed on the goal of eternal life. He was a man among men, not one in a million but one of one. Thus, the passing of Louis leaves us heartbroken but joyous in the knowledge that he is united with his wife and loved ones who are in the cherished abode of heaven. The family is forever indebted to caregiver Denise Miller who ministered to him in a most gentle and loving manner. She ensured that he had quality of life until the end. We extend profound thanks to Sedra Thompson of Home Instead for her tender care in his final days. We are also grateful to Comfort Care Hospice for providing their services and allowing him to pass in the comfort of his home. Louis was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for over 88 years. He sang in the choir for 71 years until recently when illness prevented him from attending mass. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with Rosary following.
