Linda Kay Donaldson Franklin went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020. Kay was born on Christmas Day 1946 to Clanton Miller Donaldson and Mildred Matilda White Donaldson, who raised her and her brother, Eugene.
Kay was raised in Hueytown. She married Terrell (Terry) Franklin on September 4, 1970 and moved to the Hoover area shortly after. They raised 2 children, Steven and Jill Barton. Kay was the kindest, sweetest, person, and had the gentlest of souls. She loved her family, which grew to include her son in law, Tommy Barton and granddaughters, Amelia, Charlotte and Katherine. She had a servant’s heart and was an active member of Shades Crest Baptist Church for almost 50 years. She was involved in her community and was a member of the Hoover Service Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any gifts be sent to the Shades Crest Baptist Church 2020 Challenge Fund, 452 Park Ave, Birmingham, AL 35226.
Due to health concerns, there will be a private family service and burial.
