Linda Lassen Cohn

COHN, LINDA SHEA (LASSEN), age 80, of Birmingham passed away on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Alfred Cohn, and by her parents Gertrude (Fisher) and Isadore Lassen and brother Wayne Lassen of New Orleans. She is survived by 3 sons, Marty (Philippa Bright) of Gainesville, FL, Michael (Jessica) of Boca Raton, FL, and Daniel (Anchalee) of Los Angeles, CA, her 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Olivia and Samuel Cohn of Gainesville, FL, and her sister, Rochelle Bloomston of Birmingham. Linda was born in New Orleans, attended the University of Alabama, and taught pre-school in Birmingham for nearly 30 years, first at the Jewish Community Center and then at Temple Emanu-El. She was devoted to caring for others and was a long-term volunteer at the Kirklin Infusion Clinic at UAB. She was involved in many religious, social, and philanthropic organizations. Linda truly never met a stranger – she considered everyone a friend and was loved by all who knew her. The family extends special appreciation to Dr. Joel Rich (Gainesville, FL) and the compassionate nurses and caregivers who cared for Linda in her final days. Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 27th at 11:00 AM at Temple Emanu-El, 2100 Highland Ave, Birmingham.
