Lillie H. Sanders

Lillie Holston Sanders ,age 94 died peacefully with family around her on November 4, 2021 and went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ . Born in Birmingham, Alabama and later married and moved to Tampa Florida with her husband Paul Sanders.

Lillie graduated from Phillips High School and received an RN degree from South Highland Infirmary in 1950 from the School of Nursing. In Tampa, she graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor of arts degree in 1972. She started teaching and retired from Hillsboro High School. She then returned to Birmingham after the loss of her husband and moved into Fairhaven Retirement Home. Lillie attended Irondale United Methodist Church and served as president of the United Methodist Women. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; Julian and Bessie Holston and husband Paul Sanders.

She is survived by her daughter Polly Sanders Bell; her sister Mabel Holston along with grandchildren: Eric and Mysti Thompson and Melody and Pete Folmar great grand children Damien Thompson Zachary and Grayson Folmar.
