Many wonderful memories of spending time at Dr. and Mrs. Holt's home in Bessemer while there son David and I attended BSC. 
I remember a time when David and I replaced a kitchen faucet for David's mom and dad. They were quite impressed with our accomplishment.
Wonderful family and Dr. Holt, a true gentleman. 

I just found out Dr. Holt had passed away. He was my doctor as a child and Im 58 now. I remember him setting my broken arms as a child and vividly remember to this day him pointing down 4th Ave toward Brown Service Funeral home and telling me if I didnt take my medicine like he told me to, that I was going to end up THERE. He had a way of making a believer out of a person. I am sure he has been missed ever since  his passing and there are people alive now that owe him their lives.

I loved and respected this kind, caring, Christian gentleman as our family doctor for many years. He was also a great friend to have in the delivery room! In 1986, after he had stopped delivering babies, Dr. Holt still came by to visit me and my husband in the labor room, several hours before the birth of our daughter. The last time we saw him he gave us encouraging words, a warm hug,and beamed at the photo of our grown children." Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints " Psalm 116:15

He was my doctor until I finally grew up, about age 50. He and my Mom (Lucille Flowers) worked together for years.  He was essentially the only doctor that I ever knew.

Our family suffered a tragic loss when I was four years old.  We lost my father and two brothers in a drowning incident.  This man, Dr. Holt, went far and above what an ordinary Doctor would do.  He came to our home, he comforted my mother and mourned with us.  He delivered me and all of mother's children but one. We lost a fine, God-Fearing man and he will be extremely missed.  But, what an outstanding addition to heaven he will be and it gives me more to go to heaven for than I had yesterday.

Leroy was one of the people I have ever known and a true inspiration to so many. He was a great friend and neighbor for many years. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Dr. Holt and my daddy were partners in medical practice for many years. I have always loved him and his family. He was always there for us in every challenge that my family has faced. He was an excellent doctor, a person of great integrity and character, and a perfect example of a genuine Christ follower. I am so thankful and blessed to have known him my entire life and to have been a part of his. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Holt, Owen, Bruce, David, John and all the rest of the family.

Dr Holt was not only our family doctor, but a great friend to my father James. He was instrumental in my sister, Barbara choosing Medicine for her life's work. As a former member of Boy Scout troupe 88 and Camp Arrowhead staff I will always be grateful for his participation.

My daddy was Dr. Holt's partner in family practice for many years. I have known and loved him and his family my entire life.  He has always been there for us through every challenge that our family has ever faced.  He was a wonderful doctor, a man of great character and integrity, and a perfect example of a genuine Christ follower.  
I am thankful and blessed that he has always been and always will be an important part of my life. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

When I worked for Bessemer State Technical College in the late 1980's and 1990's, I often came in contact with Dr. Holt.  He was such a kind, humble man and most certainly a pillar of the community.  Praying for all his family!

I loved Dr. Holt.  My sister and I went to him as children.  He always was the example that all doctors should be. He was truly one of a kind.

Leroy was a wonderful man. I was a member of Kiwanis with him for many years and  I always admired the way he conducted himself. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed. Frelon Abbott.

How fortunate to have met and known this wonderful man.  It was once written..."I am a part of all whom I have met"(Alfred Lord Tennyson).  That being true...we are all better people because of Dr. Holt.

Dr. Holt practiced medicine with my father, Dr. George Neal Wilson, for many years.  I've known Dr. Holt my whole life and always thought of him as my family.
