Lenard West

WEST, LENARD J., age 75, of Birmingham, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and William C. West; brother, Frank West; and brother-in-law, Mayo Walker. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Reba West; sons, Danny West (Sonya) and Donny West; daughter, Kristy Guthrie (Scott); sisters, Marvie Walker, Lois Dodd (Charles) and Lucille Childers (Lee); sister-in-law, Sue West; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighbors. Lenard was a loving husband, father and grandfather and retired from Fleet Pride in Birmingham. He enjoyed traveling, camping and Alabama football. The family gives special thanks to Dr. Kent Tucker, his staff and New Beacon Hospice. His family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 2-4 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with service following at 4 PM. A private graveside will be held on Monday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Foundry.
