Larry was born and raised in Huntsville, AL where he graduated from Butler High School in 1966. After graduating, Larry served proudly in the Army where he proudly served in the Vietnam War and was recognized with a Purple Heart (among other honors) after being wounded in action.
After an honorable relief for his bravery, Larry returned home only to find himself shortly after in Eufaula, AL where he chased his next adventure as a professional fishing guide. It was there that he found his love, Judy, and started his family before moving to Birmingham, AL where he raised his boys. It was during this time that Larry was introduced to Church and ultimately gave his heart to Jesus, was baptized and joined the Roebuck Park Baptist Church family (Thank you for your perseverance Lonnie Hendrix!). After that, Larry remained a man rooted in his love for God and standing firm in spiritual truth.
“Go rest high on that mountain, Son your work on earth is done”. You will be missed!
Special thanks to: VA Birmingham, Amedysis Hospice and Jessica Beach.
