MOORE, KENNETH L. SR., age 93 of Birmingham, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Doris M. Moore and by his parents B.L. and Arlis Moore, sister Miriam Prestridge, and brother Harold Moore. He is survived by his children, Ken Moore, Jr. (Jeanie), Marcia Berck Taylor (Tim), and Ben Moore; brother, Frank Moore; grandchildren, Brian Moore (Connie), Jeff Moore (Angel), Karen Berck Johnston (Lance), Scott Moore (Katie), and Nathan Berck (Stacie); 11 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; bonus grandsons, John-Mark Taylor (Angie), Jeffrey Taylor (Amie), and Joshua Taylor (Bess); 5 bonus great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was especially close to nieces Cynthia Moore Howard (Mike) and Denise Moore; and nephew, Dennis Melvin. Ken graduated from Cleburne County High School and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed a long career in sales with the steel industry in both Birmingham and Atlanta, GA. Ken started playing piano by ear at age 5 and later received formal training. His passion for music led him to serve many churches as Minister of Music or organist. He was a former member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and a current member of the Riverchase Community Choir. There will be a graveside service at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Pinson on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 beginning at 2 PM. The Moore family invites friends to join them for the outdoor service to honor Ken’s life and legacy.
