Juanita Moore, lovingly called Marie by her family and close friends, departed from this life on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. She was born to Ira and Betty Cummings on September 3, 1933 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Juanita confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ensley from a child and maintained her membership there throughout her life . Juanita served as teacher of Children’s Sunday school, and was one of the directors of the First Baptist Church, Ensley’s Day Care Center. She was a deacon’s wife.
Juanita was educated in the Birmingham Public School System. She attended Council Elementary School, Parker High School and graduated from Miles College.
Juanita Cummings was joined in holy matrimony to “the apple of her eye,” Wilbert Moore, and to this union three children were born: Stephanie, LaQuetta, and Darryl .
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Wilbert Moore, two brothers and six sisters.
Juanita leaves to cherish her memory: Stephanie House, LaQuetta Butler, and Darryl Moore (Adele); grandchildren: Tiffany Tillman and Ian Patton; great grandchildren: Amber House and Saniya Tillman, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
