.Sept 12, 1951-March 5, 2017 Joy Burgess Crain (65) Born in Birmingham, AL, Joy graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1969 and went on to attend Jackson State College. She was a member of the Ski club, loved trips to the beach and New Orleans and enjoyed socializing, playing games, spending time with her family and friends and her beloved animals. Joy went to live with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hankins, son, Scott (Jennifer) Crain, sister, Betty (Eddie) Stovall, lifelong friend, Shelia Carroll Colbert, grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob, Madison, Adam, and Kelsey and great grandchildren, Carson and Grant and a lifelong friend Sheila Carroll Colbert.. A Celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Parlors 2116 University Boulevard Birmingham, AL 35233 with visitation to follow
