He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 29, 1949. Joe proudly served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Army. He worked in the printing industry for several different companies for over 30 years and was a member of American Legion Post 255. Joe adored and loved his family more than anything in this world and treated his friends and his kid's friends as his own family. A hardworking and giving man until the very end, Joe even selflessly gave the special gift of organ and tissue donation.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Edith Spooner and Joseph Farley; and a grandson, Charlie Brant.
Left to cherish the many memories are his loving wife of 34 years, Gayle Farley; two sons, Joseph Farley, Jr., Daryl Parker, and Timothy LaShum; three daughters, Yvonne Farley, Jana Farley, and Crystal Adkins Farley; seven grandchildren, Joseph D. Farley, Jason Jones, Jr., Sean Jones, Brett Jones, Titus Parker, Chloe Parker, and Chelsie Stewart; four great-grandchildren, Jaxson Stewart, Bentley Jeffers, Benjamin Jones, and Charlie Farley; his brother, Kenneth Farley; and two sisters, Dena King and Wanda Farley.
Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm with a funeral service following on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 10:00 am.
