John W. Pond

Pond, John W. went to be with his Lord Thursday, August 9, 2012. Born October 6, 1937 in Hamilton, Ohio, John graduated from Fairfield High School and earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati. He served honorable in the U.S. Army Reserves. John worked for Cutler Hanner, Eaton cooperation, WESCO, and Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. He married Karen on June 11, 1980 and soon moved to Alabama in 1984 joining Shades Mountain Baptist Church. John was an avid golfer. Most importantly, John centered his life around his family, and for this he will be profoundly missed. He is survived by his wife Karen Pond of 32 years, a son John Michael Pond, Jr. (Devin),a daughter, Catherine Bell (John), his mother, Fannie Pond, two sisters, Nancy Moore (Kenny), Deanna Sheperd (Darrell), Grandchildren, Jack, Andrew, Henry and Ruthie Bell along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Shades Mountain Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the service at the church.
