Jerry Oneal Hallman, age 85, of Columbiana, AL passed away on February 27, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1939 to George and Inez Hallman. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Henry and Mike Hallman; a brother-in-Law, Gerald Lingo, and a son-in-law, Mark E. White.
Attended Auburn University where he played trombone with the Auburn Knights. He was a former auto shop owner and retired NHRA driver and technical inspector.
Jerry grew up on a farm where all animals were for work, not pets. After he and his wife moved to Chelsea he developed a true love for dogs and cats. They adopted two dogs and a cat from the humane shelter in addition to several rescue animals. He leaves behind one cat, Tabby, who is still trying to find him.
Jerry also leaves behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Kay Marie Hallman; daughters, Sarah Jeanne Hallman (Fiona Apple); Cynthia Louise Hallman; Tamara Dayle Hallman (Mario Neavez); Kelly Jane Stevenson (Stanley); step-daughters, Kim Marie Reid (Mike Olsen); Daphne Larkin White; sisters, Sue Hallman Bynum (Wayne), Janet Hallman Lingo; Diane Hallman Smith; 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends and extended family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Sunday, March 3rd at 2pm with a gathering of friends and family held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will immediately follow at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Remlap, AL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jerry Hallman’s name may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
