Jenny M. Guarino

Jenny Pocopanni Guarino of Bessemer, Alabama passed away on June 11, 2012 at the age of 90.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaspare and Antonina Pocopanni; husband, Anthony Joseph “Tony” Guarino; one sister, and eight brothers.  Survivors include her sons, Fred Guarino (Diane) and Jay Guarino (Patricia); daughters, Ann Marie Batts (Phillip) and Nina Sellers (Clyde); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a special sister-in-law, Virginia Guarino, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook and take care of her family.  She will be greatly missed.  Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with   Father Henry McDaid officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass at 11:00 am and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.   The family would like to thank the staff at The Oaks on Parkwood Nursing Home and Alacare Hospice for their loving care.
