Jane Ann Mauldin Carroll, the second baby born in Birmingham, Alabama on New Year's Day 1932, was surrounded by her loved ones as she went to be with her Lord and Savior at age 84 on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence P. and Madelyne C. Mauldin and granddaughter Dana D. Jones. Jane is survived by her husband of 66 years, B. G. “Bill” Carroll; her son David Carroll (Rae) and daughter Linda Knopf (Jimmy); seven grandchildren: Stacey Reed (Donnie), Brandon Cain (Noel), Derrick Cain (Rene), Briana Bridges, Chancey Bridges, Konnor Knopf and Dalton Knopf; eight great-grandchildren: Jordan Bittle, Dawson Atkinson, Hunter Jones, Landon Cain, Braxton Cain, Bradleigh Cain, Emmett Cain, Harper Cain. She is also survived by her two sisters Sandra Turner (Richard) and Sue Mullican (Mac) and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many life-long friends. Jane attended Woodlawn High School and joined Woodlawn Baptist Church as a teenager. In 1950 she married Bill Carroll and became an Air Force wife. After Bill's service they returned to Woodlawn Baptist and she became active in the nursery, intermediate department, GA's and YWA's. She and Bill moved to Hartselle, AL in 1971 and joined the First Baptist Church of Hartselle. They built a successful building supply business before retiring and returning to Birmingham and reuniting with their church home that had recently became Liberty Park Baptist Church. She and Bill were among the founding members of the Friendship Supper Club (Birmingham) beginning in 1968 and has maintained close ties to the other members all through the years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am at Liberty Park Baptist Church, 12001 Liberty Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35242, with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, Trussville, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the General Fund of Liberty Park Baptist Church.
