SHOWS, HERBERT W. JR. “COWBOY”, age 78 of Irondale, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vertie and Herbert Shows; son, Randy Shows; and brother-in-law, Pat Heaton. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dixie Shows; daughters, Holly Chandash (Jay) and Melissa Brewer (Danny); grandchildren, John-Michael Chandash, Lily Chandash, Logan Brewer and Claire Brewer; sister, Sally Heaton; brother, Bobby Shows (Sharon); and extended family. Cowboy proudly served the U.S. Army as a MP in New Orleans and later owned and operated D & H Transportation. His family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Happy Home Baptist Church lie-in-state from 1-2 with service at 2. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
