Helen N White

On Monday, May 15, Helen White, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 97, starting her journey to Heaven. Helen was born in Baldwin, MS, on March 26, 1926, and has resided in Palmerdale, AL, from the age of 10 years old.

Helen was known to many for her unique ability to recall detailed history of Palmerdale, naming the residents and history of homes throughout the small town. She was also known as the “Pie Lady”, as she cooked pies in her home for years to be sold at Ken’s BBQ. Helen worked and retired from Steiner Bank. She was a member of Palmerdale United Methodist Church.

After Jesse’s passing, Helen raised her 5 children on her own.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Jesse White, Her son Ronnie White, and her granddaughter Casey Nicole. She is survived by her children Gary White (Carol), Michael White (Jo Lynne), Debbie (Gary Keen), and Scotty White (Tonya).

A visitation for Helen will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys hospice of Rainbow City for their wonderful care. Thank you to Nurses Payton and Tyler, Aids Addison and Kim, Social worker Janet and Pastor Bob for the love and kindness shown by them all was so wonderful and comforting.
