THOMPSON, HAROLD EDWARD, age 75 of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley C. and Annie Virginia “Muz” Heaton Thompson. He is survived by his son, Nathan Thompson; daughters, Rachel Powell (Jeremy) and Erin Thompson-Janszen (Matthew); brother, Wiley Thompson (Jeanette); sister, Virginia Lee Reily; grandchildren, Briana Thompson (Chase), Brian Thompson, Samuel Powell, Elizabeth “Ellie” Powell and Lucy Mae Janszen; and several nieces and nephews. Harold worked as a Realtor for the last 47 years and was known as “The Pumpkin Man” and “The Flag Man” for giving away thousands of pumpkins around Halloween and thousands of flags to celebrate Independence Day. He loved all kinds of dancing especially Ballroom, Line Dancing and Swing. His family will celebrate his life with visitation on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel.
