Dunlap, Harold Eugene, age 86, of Ashville, AL died October 14, 2012. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a Mason, Lodge #186 in Ashville. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 10 years. During his golden years, he loved to travel with his wife at a moment’s notice.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Mashburn Dunlap; son Martin Dunlap (Bonnie) of Chicago, IL; stepson, Carey M. Thompson (Theresa) of Ashville; stepdaughters, Julia Harwell (Bill) of Trussville and Sandra Gilliland (Wayne) of Rainbow City; 4 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 3 sisters; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Dunlap; and sons, Raymond Dunlap and Louie Dunlap. A loving husband and a fine man, he will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church, 19436 US Hwy 411, Springville, AL 35146, with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
