Glenda Sue (Askins) Wolaver left this earth to meet her heavenly Father on October 20, 2023, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Coach) Wolaver, who is undoubtedly joyful to be reunited with her.
Glenda was the daughter of the late Wilbur (Bill) and Roselle Askins of Calera, Alabama. She was blessed to be one of many brothers and sisters who comprised her close-knit family: Robert Askins (deceased), Bucky Askins (Gayle) (both deceased), Martha Anthony (Leroy (deceased)), William Askins (Beckey), Frank Askins (Jannette), Beulah Fowler (John (deceased)), Nancy Askins, Sharon Parmer, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was greatly loved and will be missed by her daughters Kelli Ryan (Roger), Conni Barber (Gerald), and Amy Jetter (Shay Lambert); her grandchildren Jessica Sutherland, Jacob Self (Courtney), David Ryan (Christy), Rebekah Tomlinson (Chace), Abbey Broadley (Daniel), Mariah Light, Savannah Barber, Will Jetter, Olivia Jetter, Jason Barber, and Chris Barber (Selena); and her great grandchildren Ethan, Presley, Sam, Creed, Harlyn, Jack, Camille, Lucy, Hamptyn, Asher, Callum, Gibbs, Cailah, Ellis, Mattie, and Maverick. Family gatherings will never be the same without Grammy!
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Glenda's eternal life on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Ridout's Trussville, with visitation at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m. Graveside service at Forest Crest will follow.
