Frances W Goodwin

Frances Whitlock Goodwin, 98, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 . She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Frances was an unselfish person whose priorities have always been loving and caring for her family and others in need. Frances was a native of Rome, Georgia where she was the oldest of four brothers and sisters. She was a faithful member of Shades Crest Baptist Church where she was a longtime member of her Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil H. (Bud) Goodwin. She is survived by her daughters Linda Davis of Decatur, Georgia, and Jane Barron (Jim) of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Bruce Davis of Athens, Alabama, Andy Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Elise Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Stacy Eads of Birmingham, Alabama, and Shelly Hallmark of Birmingham, Alabama; great grandchildren, Haley Gillett of Atlanta, Georgia, Hunter Hallmark of Birmingham, Alabama, and Leyton Eads of Birmingham, Alabama. The Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1-2pm with funeral services following at 2pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home.
