Evelyn G. Wright

Mrs. Wright was a barber for many years, working at Kings Palace Barber Shop, Treadwell's Barber Shop in Mtn. Brook Village,and Crestline Barber Shop in Crestline Village. She was a member of Hope Community Church, formerly McElwain Baptist. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her love of laughter and life was incredible. Mrs. Wright was a talented artist and painter. She was an avid animal lover and rescuer. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wright.

She is survived by her children, Bruce Wright, and Patricia Sims (Jerry); her grandchildren, Michelle Payton (Darryl), Blake Sims (Erica), and Alexus Finch (Scott); 6 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Shriner's Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
