GRAHAM, EMMA FAYE TRAMMELL, age 94 of Irondale, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. She is survived by her son, T. Ross Graham (Sharron Crisler); daughter, Susan Graham Gardner (Charles); grandchildren, Betsy Graham, Katie Graham French (Brian), Will Gardner (Jessica), Mary Margaret Gardner Chapman (Jim), and Ben Gardner (Micah); great-grandchildren, Sara Graham, Sydney and Avery French, Chloe and Graham Gardner, Maggie and Jay Chapman, Sam, Eli and Bailey Gardner; sisters, Ruth Trammell Lloyd and Tommie Lou Trammell Williams; brother, Bobby Ross Trammell (Judy); sister-in-law, Joyce Bunt Trammell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Boteler and Ross Trammell; husband, H.T. “Tommy” Graham; sisters, Margaret Trammell Williams, Jean Trammell Jackson and Gertie Trammell Walker; and brother, Dowell Trammell. The family will be forever grateful for the loving care she received from Bettie Powe, Diedrie Davis, Joyce Quinn, Alethea Harper and many others who helped along the way. No matter what you called her – Memaw, Aunt Faye, Faye, The Matriarch, The Leader of the Pack or Mother Hen – she was always a true Southern Lady of Grace. Her focus in life was exclusively her faith, her family and her friends. She was a longtime member of The Church at Grants Mill (Irondale Baptist) and a faithful member of The Naomi Sunday School class. She was a prayer warrior and when the time came she couldn’t attend her church’s prayer meetings they brought the group to her home which was a true blessing. She baked hundreds of pound cakes and egg custard pies and sent as many cards for friends, neighbors, those in need of comfort and a lot of “just because she could”. Her cookie jar was always full of homemade tea cakes as her home was the gathering place for any and all. Maybe only her family will understand this but we are left with the lingering question of “what in the world are we going to do for Christmas Day lunch?” Visitation will be on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 9:30 AM with service to follow at 11:00 AM at The Church at Grants Mill (Irondale Baptist). Interment will be at Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her wish was that donations be made to The Church at Grants Mill, 6021 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210.
