Elsie H. Tucker

Elsie Hull Tucker passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the age of 104.She graduated from Ensley High School in 1925. She was married to the late Walter Tucker for over fifty years and was the daughter of the late Graves and Manila Hull. Elsie served as head of the Beginners Department at Acipco Baptist Church for over twenty years. She was a member of the Huffman Baptist Church for fifty-four years.

Elsie is survived by her daughters; Gloria Smith and Betty Jahn; Grandchildren, Brenda Tyson (Tommy), Randy Smith, and David Smith (Donna); Great Grandchildren, Daphne Tyson, Adam Tyson (Kymberlie), Abbie Crump (Greg),; Great- Great Grandchildren, Ella Grace, Cambrie, Brennen Tyson, and Bailey Crump; Step Great- Grandchildren, Steve Smith (Angel) and Gary Smith (Tina); Step Great-Great –Grandchildren, Carol, Brittany, and Matthew Smith; sister-in-law Lucile Hull; Nephews, Bill Hull (Syble) and Walter McCauley. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice , Daughtrey Gunter RN, and caregiver Dorothy Austin.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2011, 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with visitation for friends from 10- 11 AM. Burial will be private family only at Elmwood Cemetery immediately following the service. Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Deacon Katy Smith will officiate services.
