Ella Lorene Carter

Carter, Ella Lorene age 87 of Palmerdale, AL passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 7, 2013 at her sons home in Fort Myers, FL. Born in Jefferson County, AL to Hubert and Mary Lee Craig on June 15, 1925. Ella Lorene Craig married the love of her life Philip G. Carter, son of Clyde and Nell Carter on July 25, 1943 in Palmerdale, AL. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Phil (1921-2012); daughter, Martha Jean Carter (1944-2007); brother, Glenn Craig (1923-2008); in-laws Raymond and Faye Carter. She is survived by her son, Nickolas C. and his wife, Judy A. Carter; grandsons, Alex Crawford III, Clint E. Carter, Kent P. Carter; great-granddaughter, Brooke Crawford; brother-in-law, Leo Rex Carter of Hollywood, AL and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2013 from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Lorene request that donations be made in her name, to charities of the person’s choice. Lorene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all.
