Mrs. McBride is predeceased by her parents, Ellsworth and Dagny Mitchell; her son, Tommy McBride; and her brother, Buzz Mitchell. Elaine is survived by her husband of 75 years, Floyd Tucker McBride, and their two daughters, Linda McBride Osborn (Ken Osborn), and Coleen McBride Curd (Richard Curd). Elaine is also survived by her sister Milly Duffey. Floyd and Elaine shared 8 grandchildren together: Beth Renda, Golden Osborn, Ry Osborn, Brian McBride, Melaine McBride Legg, Melissa McBride Rosengarten, Corey Tittle and Courtney Tittle; 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Born to Dagny and Ellsworth Mitchell in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1926, Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. After meeting Floyd in St. Augustine, Florida, Elaine and Floyd married and eventually moved to Birmingham, Alabama where they raised their three children, Tommy, Linda and Coleen. Elaine was deeply loved by family and friends. She loved to catch episodes of the Price is Right and never missed a broadcast of an Atlanta Braves’ game. She was passionate about many things in her life, but most of all, she was passionate about her family. Our Nanny will be dearly missed by us all.
Services for Mrs. McBride will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 10 am, followed by the service at 11 am. The burial will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
