Edward “Eddie” Curtis Cox, age 85, a longtime resident of Forestdale, AL , died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at a local Birmingham hospital following a sudden illness. Eddie was born August 4, 1927 in Birmingham, AL, where he attended school. He worked at ACIPCO in Birmingham as a draftsman for 45 years, taking a leave to serve in the U.S. Army during WW II. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and genealogy. He was a very kind, compassionate man, and was particularly proud of being a Freemason and Shriner. He will be greatly missed. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Cox and Katherine Beula Biddy Cox. Survivors include brothers, Billy Joe Cox and J Lamarr Cox and six nephews and nieces, William J. Cox, J. Lamarr Cox, Jr., John Leon Cox, Janet Stovall, Kathryn Reeder and Jeanette Lavon Cox. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 1:00pm til 2:00 pm. There will be a graveside service following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham at 3:00 pm. Officiating minister is the Rev. Dr. William J. Cox. Pallbearers include William Cox, Ronnie Carr, and grandnephews, Lee Cox, Dean Cox, Brad Cox and Joshua Cox.
