Earnest, also known as Monk to many, age 79 of Birmingham passed away Thursday, September 24th, 2015. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police and then served in the Army Reserve. He is a former member of Forestdale Baptist Church and Woodward Country Club. Monk retired from Shook & Fletcher Mechanical after 52 years as a Project Manager Estimator. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Fredia Watson Amerson; his two daughters, Kim Perry (Jeffrey L.) and Kellie Brown (Shawn); four grandchildren, Matt Perry, Derek Perry, Will Brown, and Baylee Brown; sister, Brenda Morrison (David); two nephews, Lee Morrison and Scott Morrison; and his Aunt Eunice Davis. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
