Our dear mother, Dorothy Camp Watterson of Hoover, sadly passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 93. She was a member of Crumly Chapel United Methodist Church for 50 years and Bluff Park United Methodist for 18 years. She had a great love for her Lord and Savior, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Berl Ottis Camp and Mittie Odessa Spinks Camp; first husband of 54 years, Billy Jack Elliott; second husband of 5 years, Dr. Gene Lee Watterson; sister, Irma Lee Timmons; and brother Willie Gene Camp. Dorothy leaves behind her son, Bruce Camp Elliott of Jasper; daughter, Sharon Elliott Veigas and husband, Keith of Hoover; grandchildren, Cade Garrett, Rilee Garrett, and Brody Garrett, all of Hoover, and Sam Elliott of Jasper. Graveside service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
There will not be a public visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to meet at Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, AL. 35211 by 1:45pm and we will all process together to the gravesite.
