Mrs. Dorothy Mae Harper Vann

VANN, DOROTHY MAE HARPER age 84, of Pinson, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel William Vann; and grandson, Kenneth Wayne Robinson. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Vann (Eveline) and Jonathan "Jon" Vann (Doris); daughter, Anne Elizabeth V. Robinson; brother, Lewis Harper; sister, Annette Barnett; grandchildren, James Keith Robinson, Melanie Suzanne Robinson Ragan, Catherine Mary Anne Robinson Armstead, Angela Diane Stafford, William Shaun Vann, Jonathan Mark Vann II, Ashley Leanne Vann, Daniel William Vann II, and Breanna Brooke Vann; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; Dorothy graduated from Woodlawn High School and participated in the USO. She worked as a secretary for Pizitz and Dawson Memorial Baptist as well as in the First Baptist Pinson Kindergarten. She was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on Monday, September 20, 2010 beginning at 11 AM with Bro. Larry Smith and Dr. Gary Fenton officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Troy Children's Home or Dawson's Children's Building Fund.
