Born Sept. 27, 1926 and passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Dot was born the 8th child of Charles Edward Cutcliffe and Letha Mae Myrtle Cutcliffe of Woodlawn. A devoted wife and mother, she was happiest when surrounded by family. She was married to Johnnie T. Foster, Sr. And they moved to Center Point in 1952 where he owned the 1st Gulf Service Station and icehouse and Jack’s Cafe.
She lived a humble life centered around her family and her Catholic faith. She was an avid bowler and made many life long friends at Roebuck Lanes as well as in her Tupelo Rd. neighborhood. In 2003, she moved to Argo with her daughter and son-in-law and resided there until her death where she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the family she so loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Foster, Sr. and son, Johnnie “Jay” Foster, Jr.; parents- Charles and Letha Mae Myrtle Cutcliffe; brothers- Bud, Raymond “Nookie,” Mike, and Thomas “Honey;” sisters- Elizabeth “Betsy” Busby (Pratt), Alma Mabry (Don), Eleanor “Sis” Casey (Johnny), Helen Gibbons (Gerald); nephews- Mike Busby, Ray-Ray Cutcliffe; niece, Lyn Cutcliffe Bodiford and sister-in-law, Margaret Cutcliffe.
She is survived by her son, Phillip J. “Phil” Foster (Sonja); daughter, Ellen Foster O’Rear (John); daughter-in-law, Pam Bridges Foster; grandchildren- Jeff Foster (Martha), Christian Foster, MaryClaire Foster, Shea O’Rear Carroll (Ryan), Shana O’Rear Neigoot (Spence), Erica O’Rear Christie (Mark), Johnnie Foster III (Kassie), Stephen Foster, David Foster (Kera); great grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Carroll, Parker and Lexi Neigoot, Jacob and Ava Claire Foster; sisters-in-law, Frances Cutcliffe, Marilyn Cutcliffe, Celia Anderson (Bill) and Faye George.
Family will receive family and friends on Monday, June 18 from 5-7 p.m. with the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, June 19 at 10 a.m. Both at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery and Father Bill Lucas will officiate the funeral mass.
