Donna Sue Snider

Donna was born February 6, 1945 to Florence Nelson Doerfler and Alfred Doerfler in Birmingham, AL. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Jan Snider; her son, Yon Snider; Yon’s beloved friend and our family angel, Ginger Wilson; two sisters, Melita Young (Danny) and Judith Roberts (John); her sister-in-law Gloria Tibbs; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Bernie and Margaret Snider, her sister Kristiane Tatum, her brother-in-law John Tatum, her brother John Doerfler, her sister-in-law Dinah, and her niece Kasey Thompson.

Donna retired from Regions Bank where she held several branch positions, following a long career at Jefferson Federal Savings and Loan. She was a charter member of Shades Valley Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and held numerous leadership positions. She was a resident of Childersburg, AL.

To her family, Donna was the glue that held them together, the keeper of family history and traditions. She always remembered every family member with a card at birthdays and other times of year. Every child in our far-flung family received a birthday gift, and we all got a call where she would sing the birthday song to us. She hosted most family gatherings and called family and friends regularly to check on them. She loved the Lord and her church and was actively involved all her life. She dearly loved her husband and son. In heaven, she will be blessed with many crowns, but her joy will be to lay those crowns at the foot of God’s throne.
