Dianna Staples Long, age 77 a native of Birmingham, AL passed away on July 16, 2024. She was born on April 28, 1947 to Blair and Hazel Staples. Dianna was a graduate of Banks High School class of 1964 and attended Samford University. She retired from Social Security Administration with 30 years of service.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, Sally Horn and Frances Hurst.
Dianna is survived by her sisters, Joy Duckworth, of Birmingham, AL and Susan Schliph (Rod), of Tulsa, OK; her children, Patrick “Pat” Long (Christi), of Brownsboro, AL and Heather Kadman (Matthew), of Chelsea, AL; six grandchildren, Grace Long Fulkerson (Hayden), Abby Long, Carter Long, Jacob Larson, Kaileigh Kadman and Ryan Kadman; her nephews, Stephen Duckworth (Kim), of Kennesaw, GA, Stewart Duckworth (Michelle), of Argo, AL and Owen Schliph (Kendall), of Tulsa, OK and niece, Emily Schliph Cox (Daniel), of Tulsa, OK; Uncle, William Wayne Brown, of Atlanta, GA and cousins, Cheryl Hurst Spivey (Curtis) and Patti Hurst Findley; eleven great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dianna will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. A small reception will be held at the funeral home for friends and family following the committal.
