Diana Constance Sullivan, born in Beeston, England left this world on February 21, 2016 just after her 92nd birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Sullivan. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Diane Brown; Grandchildren, Robert M. Henry-Green, Kimberly Diana Green and Kevin F. Green; Great grandsons, Thainiel Q. Hargitt and Hunter M. Hargitt; and Great, Great-grandsons, Gavin Q. Hargitt and Owen G. Hargitt. She was a longtime Springville resident who spent more time in the US than her country of origin. She met her husband, Marcus Sullivan while he was stationed overseas in England as she served as a civilian, decoding for the British Intelligence Department. She entered this country as a war bride on the Queen Elizabeth. She settled in Springville on the family’s farm for six years until their daughter Patricia was born. They then moved to Clearwater, Florida where she was the head of the insurance department at Mease Hospital. She then entered into the banking industry as the secretary to the president of a local bank. Marcus became home sick and they returned to Springville in 1971. She opened the House of Quilts and Antiques in 1972. She and Marcus were co-founders of Homestead Hollow which brought her much joy. Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with visitation from 12:00-2:00 and service at 2:00. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery.
