Dan Wells

He was born on June 18, 1924, in Phenix City, Alabama to the late James and Lillian Wells. Also preceding Dan in death are two brothers and one sister.

Dan was married to his sweetheart, Dixie Wells, for over 70 years before her passing in 2017.

Left to cherish his memory are his nephew and many nieces.

Dan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. After serving in the military, he graduated with a bachelors degree from Howard College, now Samford, and was a member of Phi Mu Honorary Science Society. Dan was of the Baptist faith. He was also a longtime member of American Legion Post 171.

A funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 11:00 am with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Dan will be laid to rest with his wife at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
