SHELTON, Curtis Earl “Curt” age 88, resident of Robert L. Howard State Veteran’s Home passed away on March 7, 2022 in Pell City. Curt was born on June 6, 1933 to the late William D. & Myrtle Coffey Shelton. Curt graduated from Woodlawn High School and served in the U.S. Army (Special Service Tank Division). He worked as the Parts Sales Manager for Volvo White Trucking Company until retirement. Curt spent a wonderful lifetime with his childhood sweetheart, Kat and was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a former member of McElroy Memorial United Methodist Church and current member of Avondale United Methodist Church. He loved his wife, family, carpentry, Logan Martin Lake and Alabama Football.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen “Kat” Shelton and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Mosley (Steve) and Diane Baker (Steve); grandchildren, Lauren Phillips (Tae), Dr. Steve Baker (Courtney), Kendall Ansley (Dr. Tim Ansley), Claire Mosley DeVaughn (Scott) and Kyle Mosley; and great-grandchildren, Zoey, Atlas, and Mabel Phillips and Blake, Jackson and Baker Graham Ansley and expecting Alayna Grace Baker; brother, Rickey Shelton; sister, Cathy Kimbrel (Jeff) and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Curtis will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse.org.
