Clarence Louis “Buddy” Rohling age 89, passed away on, April 19th, 2012. He was born the son of Catherine Waltz Rohling and Louis Joseph Rohling in Birmingham, AL on June 20, 1922. Mr. Rohling was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Paul, his daughter-in-law JoAnne McCown Rohling, and Sister, Mary Evelyn Woods. He is survived by his faithful and devoted wife of 67 years, Pauline. Survivors also include a son, Melvin Earl Rohling (Jackie), 4 grandchildren, Brian Rohling (Meredith), Karen Rohling Campbell (Patrick), Kelly McCown, Shaun Knight (Craig), 8 great-grandchildren, Landon Rohling, Annsley Rohling, John Patrick Campbell, Kaylin Campbell, Lillianne Campbell, Taylor Knight, Tucker Knight, Piper Knight, and two nephews, Tom Woods (Karen), and Jim Woods (Willene). Mr. Rohling retired from Hardie-Tynes Manufacturing Company on June 29, 1984 after 44 years of service as a master machinist. He served his country proudly and was an Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Rohling was a charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Attending there since 1959, he has been active in the Holy Name Society, served as a Sunday School Catechist and Eucharistic minister, and sang for years in the choir and shared his beautiful voice as a cantor for all services. His devotion to his faith was exemplified in his daily life and through the love for his family and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00. The Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Memorial may be sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Building Fund or Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church building Fund.
