Clara (Charlene) Farr moved on to heaven Friday, June 30 2023. Clara was born in Blue Mountain, MS, Sept 4, 1929 to Mattie Goosby Miller and Lee Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rowe Farr, who she met on a bus in Memphis, TN after his discharge from the navy in 1946. They were married on Feb Friday 13th, 1948, he passed away in 2005.
Clara comes from a time long gone, raised on a farm where her father tended the fields with a horse-drawn plow, with no indoor plumbing and no electricity for the first 7 years of her life. Even though they had meager possessions the family grew up happy and with much love through the great depression. Clara will be enjoying her mother’s home-made biscuits and strawberry jam when they reunite in heaven.
After marriage, Clara moved to Midfield, AL where she and William raised their 4 children. She was one the 1st residents of Midfield. Later Clara moved to Alabaster, AL where she helped raise her grandson, Robby Farr.
Clara was the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother a human could wish for. She always had a smile and accepted everyone as they are and supported us in whatever we pursued.
Clara had 4 children Tommy Farr (Dotti Farr), who went before her to heaven in 2022, of Pelham, AL; Johnny Farr (Fay) of Leesburg, VA; David Farr (Kathy) of Reno, NV; and Elizabeth Jantz (Eric) of Harpersville, AL. Clara had 9 grandchildren: Kristen Farr, Clara Rice-Farr, Robby Farr, Andrew Farr, Sarah Farr, Christian Jantz, Zane Jantz, Aliena Artesana, and Lee Farr. Clara had 4 great grandchildren. Clara had 8 siblings, 2 died as infants, who all preceded her in death.
Clara had a wonderful sense of humor and brought great joy to her family, that will be missed most.
