Charles Edward Elmore, age 79, passed into the arms of our Lord at Huntsville Hospital on May 2, 2021 in the presence of his son, Anthony Elmore, and granddaughter, Elise Allison. Charles lived a victorious life of service to his family, country, and church, serving as an educator and pastor for the Assemblies of God Church. Charles served his country in the Army in Germany, Italy, and Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Elmore, as well as his wife of 51 years, Johnnie Lee Elmore; son, Charles (Chuck) Elmore, Jr.; daughter Cindi Lindsey; and daughter Katrina Kaiser.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Elmore, daughter-in-law Anna Elmore; his brothers John and Billy Elmore; and his grandchildren Elise Allison, Autumn White Brazil, Matthew White, Zeinah Estrada, Zak Waliahga, Zane DiVita, Razan Waliagha, Halie Lindsey, Joanne Lindsey as well as several great-grandchildren.
Charles touched many lives, and was known for his infectious smile and unwavering kindness and generosity.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 7 at 10:00 am at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am followed by a gravesite service at Ridout's Forest Crest Cemetery. Masks are not required but use your best judgement.
