Catherine “Betty” Hornbuckle, age 86, of Remlap, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She was a member of Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, J.D. “Don” Hornbuckle, Sr.; a grandson, James Scott Garner and her parents, Everett Gary and Hilda Gillespie Gary. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Gary and her sister, Sarah Reid.
Betty is survived by her six children, J.D. Hornbuckle, Jr. (Angie), Charlotte Hornbuckle Garner (Terry), Mark Hornbuckle (Susie), Rick Hornbuckle (Paris), Wayne Hornbuckle and Bill Hornbuckle (Virginia); twelve grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will take place at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The committal service will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Father Holloway will preside over the service.
