She is survived by her husband of 39 years Daniel Lee Bowen, sons Ronald Lee Bowen, Brierfield, AL, Jonathan Karl Bowen, Odenville, Al. daughters Kristi Smith Bowen, Brierfield, AL Tammy Praytor Bowen, Odenville, AL. grandchildren, Mazie Lee Bowen, Brierfield, AL. Allston Chase Bowen, Odenville, AL. Gavin Andrew Bowen, Brierfield, AL. Ayden Cole Bowen, Odenville, AL. and Ashton Caleb Bowen, Odenville AL. She is also survived by her brother Billy Lamar Powell Jr. and sister Kelly Powell O’Rear (Dan) both of Odenville, AL, and a uncle Buddy Young of Milton, FL. And several loved nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), the Palomino Horse Breeders Association (PHBA) in which she was awarded the 2008 National Highpoint-Novice Amateur Western Pleasure and the Multiple Register of Merits (ROM’s) for riding. She was also a member of several Affiliates of Alabama Open Horsemans Association, Mid-State, NASCA, etc.

Other special Achievements included The World’s Greatest MAW MAW – 5 grandchildren, Carolyn attended Auburn University where she played in both the Marching and Concert Bands.

Funeral service will be Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with interment to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friend at the funeral home Monday evening August 24, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM.
