Carla Popwell Malone, 66, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2024. Her life revolved around her family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to visit her extended family in Texas, every chance that she could. Carla loved going to the lake and spending time with all of her friends there, especially her Bunco sisters. Carla had a charitable heart and was always willing to help a friend or family in need. Her favorite charity was St Jude for Children Research hospital. Carla retired from S & S. Appliances where she worked in Sales and Customer Service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Malone and her brother in-law, Bobby Wheeler, Sr. Carla is survived by her sister, Dora Wheeler; nephews, Bobby, Jr., Billy and David Wheeler; children, Stacy and Brian Cooke, Brandon Malone; grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Wahl, and Brayden and Haven Malone; sisters at heart, Regina Hamm and Cheryl Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a visitation, Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4pm until 6pm at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 1pm at Shiloh-Pinhook Cemetery in 151 Zion Shiloh Rd, Vernon, AL 35592.
