Betty Oden

ODEN, BETTY J., age 79, of Pinson, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Johnnie Jones; daughter, Linda Yates; son-in-law, Len Yates; sister, Jackie Tidwell; and the father of her children, Howard Oden. She is survived by her son, Ron Oden (Veronica); brothers, Ed Jones (Barbara) and Herbert Jones (Dorita); grandchildren, Tammy Lowe, Larry Wayne Reynolds, Ryker Oden, Brittany Oden and Brandon Oden; great-grandchildren, Lexie Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds and Josh Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was born in Bibb County and raised in Pinson. She owned and operated Betty’s Family Restaurant and was a member of The Grand Old Gospel House. The family gives special thanks to Dora Young, Essie Blackman, Glenda Reeves, Rennie Neason and the staff at Golden Living Oneonta. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. She will lie-in-state at The Grand Old Gospel House on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 10-11 with her service beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
